Welcome to Chronotab! This guide will help you install the extension and create your first scheduled tab group.

Installation

  1. Download from Chrome Web Store:

  2. Pin the Extension (Recommended):

    • After installation, click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions) in your Chrome toolbar.
    • Find Chronotab in the list and click the pin icon next to it. This will keep Chronotab visible in your toolbar for easy access.

Your First Scheduled Tab Group

Let’s schedule a group of your favorite news websites to open every morning.

  1. Open Chronotab:

    • Click the Chronotab icon in your Chrome toolbar.
  2. Navigate to Schedule Editor:

    • The main view will likely be your Dashboard. Look for a button or tab like “Create Schedule” or “Schedule Editor” and click it.
  3. Create a New Schedule:

    • Click on a “New Schedule” or ”+” button.
    • Name your schedule: e.g., “Morning News”.
    • Set the time and date: Choose the desired time (e.g., 8:00 AM) and the date for the first occurrence.
    • Add URLs:
      • Enter the URLs of the websites you want to open (e.g., https://www.bbc.com/news, https://www.reuters.com).
      • You can add multiple URLs to this schedule.
    • Save the schedule: Click the “Save” or “Create” button.
  4. Wait for it to Open!

    • At the scheduled time, Chronotab will automatically open the specified tabs for you. You should also receive a notification.

Managing Your Schedules

  • View Schedules: Your created schedules will be listed in the Dashboard or a “My Schedules” section.
  • Edit Schedules: Click on an existing schedule to modify its name, time, or the list of URLs.
  • Delete Schedules: Remove schedules you no longer need.
  • Missed Schedules: If Chrome was closed or your computer was off during a scheduled time, Chronotab will show this in a “Missed Schedules” section, allowing you to open them manually.

Tips for Getting Started

  • Start Simple: Create one or two schedules for daily routines to get a feel for how Chronotab works.
  • Use Descriptive Names: Clearly name your schedules (e.g., “Monday Work Kickoff”, “Weekend Project Research”).
  • Check Notifications: Ensure Chrome notifications are enabled for Chronotab to receive reminders.
